How to choose a grout pump.

Start from the type of work and the equipment already on site, then define the power supply, grout preparation, pump and level of automation.

Types of work on site

The first step is the type of work to be carried out. Dai Prà machines are used in these fields:

Ground improvement
Tube à manchette (TAM) grouting, soil mixing, waterproofing grouting.
Tunnelling
Consolidation grouting in tunnels, contact grouting, two-component grout injection for TBM excavation.
Anchoring
Soil and rock anchors and tiebacks, soil nailing, self-drilling anchors.
Specialist foundations
Micropiles, pile grouting, geothermal probes.
Trenchless construction
Microtunnelling, exploratory drilling.
Specialist underground construction
Plastic mixes for cast-in-situ walls (diaphragm walls), waterproofing.

The type of work determines the required flow rate and pressure, also taking into account the company’s future work: a well-chosen machine remains suitable for later projects too.

Our experts have more than thirty years of site experience and can support you both in organising the site and in choosing the machine and equipment you need.

Available power supplies

The range includes electro-hydraulic, pneumatic and hydraulic solutions. Before choosing, check which site equipment can power or be paired with our machines.

Electro-hydraulic

The electric motor drives the machine’s hydraulic circuit. Check the voltage and power available on site, also allowing for the mixer, agitator and accessories.

Pneumatic

The plant runs on compressed air. Tell us the compressor’s air pressure and flow rate: knowing the pressure alone is not enough to check compatibility.

Hydraulic

An external hydraulic source, such as the drilling rig’s hydraulic couplings or a power unit, can power machines set up for it. Pressure, flow rate and connections must be compatible with the machine.

Machines already on site

List the machines you already have: drilling rig with hydraulic couplings, hydraulic power unit, air compressor, mixing unit or electric supply. Send the model, performance and available connections: a hydraulic power unit and a compressor supply different forms of energy and are not interchangeable.

Grout pumps, mixers, agitators, big bag silos and other equipment are also sold individually, not necessarily as a complete plant: we can complete what you already have on site.

Choosing the pump

Once the work, power supply and grout preparation are defined, you choose the pump. The Dai Prà range includes several grout pumps with different flow and pressure characteristics, from the compact DE/OL 3 for precision grouting to the DE/OL 130 for the highest flow rates, as well as pneumatic versions and the PDP 5025 plunger pump.

All our piston pumps use double-acting plungers and work at both high and low pressure.

Three data logger levels

The data logger integrated in our grout pumps comes in three levels: BASIC records pressure, flow rate and volume; PLUS stops the pump at the set pressure, volume or G.I.N. value and manages recipes with two or more components; ADVANCED automatically adjusts the grouting parameters, with dynamic limits and pressure–volume curve control.
